Internships
Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems locations offer a number of internship opportunities for college students.
Eligibility
Most of our internships are of a technical nature and are best suited to students majoring in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, and other, related curricula.
We have a limited number of non-technical internship opportunities for majors in fields such as Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Communications and International Relations.
Most placements involve students in their junior or senior years, or in graduate-level programs, though we sometimes do consider freshman or sophomores with particularly strong backgrounds and have exhibited a strong interest in Electronic Systems programs or technologies.
Internship applicants must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0. However, the majority of candidates selected have at least a 3.5/4.0 or above.
Pay and Benefits
Interns are considered casual employees hired for a specific, pre-determined period of time and paid on an hourly basis. Most internships are full-time, or up to forty (40) hours per-week. We have competitive salaries, and a limited amount of housing and relocation assistance may be available for interns coming from out-of-state.
How To Apply
To be considered for a summer internship, many of our sector locations have a required on-line application deadline - for Baltimore opportunities that date is January 31. View the current opportunities.
Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems recruits at many universities and engineering conferences across the United States. Therefore, we encourage you to check with your Campus Career Center for the date and time of our next visit. Please note, currently we only offer a few part-time internship or co-op opportunities at selected universities. Check with your career center to find out if your school is a participant.
Our intern positions require that you are able to obtain a U.S. government security clearance. Therefore, U.S. citizenship is required.
