Guardian™ System

The Guardian™ System is currently flying MD-10 aircraft in revenue service in conjunction with the DHS Counter-MANPADS Phase III Cargo Program

Major program highlights include:

  • Modification of 11 MD-10 aircraft
  • Production of 12 Northrop Grumman Guardian™ Systems
  • Accumulation of greater than 5,000 hours of system operating time as of 31 July 2007

Modified, installed, flight tested and received FAA certification on MD-11, MD-10 and B-747

Through all phases of the DHS C-MANPADS Program, Northrop Grumman has met

  • Technical Requirements
  • Cost Requirements
  • Schedule Requirements

Results to date indicate DIRCM technology is viable for commercial aviation and is well suited for use in scheduled and non-scheduled passenger or freight operations.
