mini-pointer/tracker with Viper™Proven in Laboratory and Live Fire Tests

  • The mini-pointer/tracker has successfully demonstrated its ability in the laboratory, in Northrop Grumman's outdoor test range and in live fire tests.
     
  • Live fire tests of mini-pointer/tracker and Viper™ [U.S. Navy-sponsored Tactical Aircraft Directional Infrared Countermeasures (TADIRCM) at White Sands Missile Range, September/October 1999]
      
    • First ever successful jamming of IR missile seekers in a live fire test by a multi-band, laser-based system
    • Declaration, hand-off and track through fly-by against missiles at ranges over 15 km
    • Successfully jammed 4 for 4 missiles launched from various ranges that represent combat scenarios
       
  • CLIRCM capabilities demonstrated on USAF eLIFE Program (2004)
     
  • Wind tunnel tests proved the pointer/tracker's ability to operate in a transonic tactical aircraft environment (2002)
     
  • Completed Flight Test and FAA Certification (STC) on MD-11; Completed Flight Test on 747 May 2006 with FAA Certification expected July 2006.
     
  • Extended operational test and evaluation scheduled in 2006 on numerous commercial aircraft in revenue service.
