AN/AQS-14 Sonar
Our sonars operate from a variety of airborne, surface, and subsurface platforms.
We designed, built and support AN/AQS-14, the world's only high-speed, high resolution mine hunting sonar system. AN/AQS-14A has been towed from aircraft, surface ships and remotely operated vehicles. It is rapidly deployable and provides real-time sonar high-resolution images to detect, localize and classify both bottom and moored mines at high area coverage rates.
A technology refresh and addition of the new laser converts the AN/AQS-14A into the AN/AQS-24 that provides positive visual identification of objects and improved sonar resolution. Northrop Grumman has been performing this aggressive upgrade program that substantially improves both the capabilities and performance of the AN/AQS-24 over its predecessors.
