FlightSuite(TM) Quiet Cockpit Technology

H-1 integrated avionics video

Northrop Grumman's FlightSuite™ offers versatility, operational reliability, maintainability, and best-value in a state-of-the-art avionics suite. This sophisticated avionics system is based upon a modular, open and adaptable architecture. The FlightSuite™ features an ergonomic crew/aircraft interface utilizing high-quality displays. Flight crews experience greater operational success because critical flight and mission information is immediately accessible in an intuitive format.

FlightSuite™ is based on proven USMC H-1 and USN E-2D avionics including navigation and a digital map system, communications suite, Integrated Aircraft Self-Protection, and weapons delivery through a full glass cockpit with HOCAS controls. Our system is proven in both rotorcraft and fixed wing aircraft including the challenges of maritime environment, carrier take off and landing, and gun impulse.

FlightSuite™ is CNS/ATM compliant up to 2020 and compatible with future CNS/ATM requirements for civil airspace after 2020 due to the growth capability afforded by this scalable modular system. Its CNS/ATM compliance is provided by the software contained in its FlightPro™ mission computers, together with the hardware features of its radios, transponders, inertial navigation systems, and global positioning systems. The architecture of FlightSuite™ consists of one or more FlightPro™ scalable mission computers, multi-function displays, computer display units, stores station control units, air data computers and standby attitude sensors, navigation and communication radios, keyboard units, remote control units, head-up displays, integrated helmet displays and weapon subsystems. FlightSuite™ integrates these components and streamlines them into a single, focused system. This dedicated suite offers the necessary resources to efficiently control the aircraft and execute the mission. The glass cockpit includes high resolution multi-function displays that provide full operability at all crew locations.

Northrop Grumman is a major producer of tactical information management systems for maritime patrol, anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare, search-and-rescue and related applications. The Northrop Grumman AN/ASN-150 and AN/ASN-123 systems are in use with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard, as well as a large number of international customers on such platforms as the SH-2F/G, SH-3H, SH-60F, HH-60H/J, S-70B/C and CH-124B. The latest generation in this family, known as the Integrated Tactical Avionics System (ITAS), introduces the latest processing and display technologies and architectures into such applications for both fixed and rotary-wing platforms. Northrop Grumman also produces a full range of mission support and integration systems to support these airborne applications.
