LN-94 Inertial Navigation System
In 1973 Northrop Grumman began to invest tens of millions of dollars in the development and production of ring laser gyros (RLGs). Northrop Grumman is presently producing three systems based on these gyros: the LN-92 third-generation Navy Standard Carrier Aircraft Inertial Navigation System (CAINS II); the LN-93 second-generation USAF Standard Inertial Navigation System SNU-84-1; and a variant, the LN-94, designed specifically for the F-15 Strike Eagle.
