LTN-101E GNADIRU (Global Navigation Air Data Inertial Reference Unit)
The LTN-101E is the world's first commercially certified navigation-grade fiber optic inertial sensor. The LTN-101E is in development for certification on the entire Airbus family of aircraft, including the A380.
The LTN-101E incorporates cutting edge fiber optic gyro technology and Autonomous Integrity Monitored Extrapolation (AIMEŽ) technology. The LTN-101E supports RNP 0.1 navigation accuracy requirements, worldwide, 24 hours a day, and offers industry leading reliability. The system lowers ownership costs and increases flexibility through innovative sensor and electronics design, featuring:
- Very long Fiber Optic Gyro (FOG) life
- Unit MTBF of over 50,000 operating hours
- Offers AIMEŽ technology
- Single LTN-101E GNADIRU part number in Airbus A300 to A380 series aircraft
- Intermixable with LTN-101 GNADIRUs in Airbus A300 to A340 series aircraft
- Integrates GPS/IRS/Air Data
- Supplies Air Data computation (Airbus A318-A380), will support growth for additional airframes
- ARINC 704/738-compatible without modification
- Reduces weight and power consumption
- Adapter tray retrofit (non-4 MCU provisions)
- Provides LNAV advisory, will support growth for precision approaches
- Advanced Built-In Test (BIT)
- In-flight fault diagnostics
- System and module BIT history storage
